Go-go dancers rule. Especially when they can be found at one of the coolest gigs in the city. Last night Griffis Studios hosted a 60's themed multimedia music show at 30 Essex Street. Don't worry if you missed it, these guys have a few more tricks up their sleeves... so if you know what's good for you, then don't miss another one. The location for the event was a multi level, 'duo micro industrial' warehouse garage... there's really no other way to describe it.
The crowd last night was remarkable. People came to celebrate a new wave of progressive art in Buffalo (see BRO's Trend Channel). The tix were $20 which got you through the door, hooked you up with unlimited Flying Bison Beer, treated your ears to the sounds of groovy, spinning, chill tunes, and threw out a psychedelic sensory overload that permeated the complex. Babik showed up to jam for a good part of the evening as well. If there is anyone in Buffalo that knows how to throw a good 'party', it's the Griffis family. These guys are back in the groove and Buffalo is the better for it. The celebration of art can be an art form in itself, and Buffalo is lucky enough to have this dedicated group on the scene. We'll keep you in the loop when the next get together takes place.

This was a fantastic evening, I did drop mention that it should be a continuous series, perhaps someone heard. Highlighting the talents of the local artisans , and bringing the focus in on their environment and crafts in action was inspiring. A brilliant idea to allow audience participation in getting each donor to draw an image on steel plates and having that image cut out by the craftsmen as a keepsake while they watched...just incredible. I'm very pleased that it was a runaway success and look forward to the next events.
